As Maya Angelou beautifully once expressed, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.” This sentiment captures the heart of my approach to therapy, where my focus is creating a space where individuals feel safe to share their stories, explore their challenges, and uncover their strengths. Recognizing firsthand, the transformative power of being seen and supported, I strive to offer clients the understanding and encouragement they need to heal and grow.
Before entering the field of Mental Health, I spent over a decade as a Forensic Accountant and CPA (Certified Public Accountant), solving complex problems with analytical precision. While I excelled in my career, I often felt disconnected from my deeper purpose. I realized that the most fulfilling moments were not about the numbers but the connections I made with people, helping them find clarity and confidence in the midst of chaos.
The realization that fulfillment comes from connection rather than external success, alongside a calling from God, led to a decision to transition into the Mental Health field, where I could focus fully on empowering others and inspiring hope. I am currently working on my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University in their dual Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)/Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) Program.
As a woman of faith, I believe in the value of professional help alongside spiritual support. I recognize that prayer and faith are profound sources, but healing often also requires the resources of practical tools and actionable strategies. For those who seek it, I incorporate spirituality into therapy as an additional layer of insight and guidance, ensuring that the process honors each client’s unique beliefs and journey. My goal is to make individuals of faith feel comfortable seeking help outside the church walls, breaking the stigma around mental health in faith communities.
Whether working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, or families, my counseling philosophy is client-centered and rooted in compassion, authenticity, and collaboration, ensuring that each client feels supported and equipped to pursue THEIR vision for a meaningful life.
